| Björk Guðmundsdóttir, known mononymously as Björk, is an Icelandic singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and occasional actress.
Over her three-decade career, she has developed an eclectic musical style that draws on a wide range of influences and genres spanning experimental, electronic, trip-hop, pop, underground dance, classical, and avant-garde styles. Critics have consistently praised Björk’s work, praising her innovative approach to singing and composition, her musical experimentation, her music videos, and her distinctive voice; she has been described as “the most important and forward-looking musician of her generation” and “the best non-pop female vocalist of the last 30 years.” The Volta Tour was a tour by the singer Björk that focused on her album, Volta. Overall, 48 songs were done on the tour focusing on many tracks from Debut through to Vespertine, though mostly from Medúlla and Volta, the former of which did not receive its own tour. Björk filmed a concert at L’Olympia in Paris, France (2008, 25th June) during the last leg of the Volta tour and a small concert in Reykjavík, Iceland straight after the tour had finished.
