Shortly after the release of a new EP, Chinese Man is back at Bourges for an exceptional concert, before going back on their Once Upon a Time tour to continue their pursuit of the quest for Zen spirit, which will carry on in June in France and abroad. Since 2004, the Chinese Man trio has been the figurehead of Chinese Man Records, a collective taking root in Marseilles gathering producers, musicians, DJ’s, designers and filmmakers who explore together the groovy intimacy of an eclectic galaxy of vinyls, and share a strong taste for sonic surprises. Hip-hop, dub, trip hop, drum’n’bass, and chinoiserie…

The famous DJs and beat-makers of Chinese Man, the powerful French hip-hop collective, seek their inspiration mainly in rap, but also in funk, dub, reggae and jazz. It was the unforgettable track “I’ve Got That Tune” that brought them to the attention of the public in 2004. Paying homage as much to Led Zeppelin as to the Fugees, the four acolytes from Marseille, with their variegated universe of sound, are true architects of composing. Under the aegis of the totally independent label Chinese Man Records, which celebrated its tenth anniversary just a year ago, they brilliantly fulfil their mission to spread the spirit of Zen all over the world.
