UB40 are a British reggae/pop band formed in 1978 in Birmingham, England.

UB40 has had more than 50 singles in the UK Singles Chart, and has also achieved considerable international success. One of the world’s best-selling music artists, UB40 have sold over 70 million records.

UB40’s hit singles include their debut “Food for Thought” and two U.S. Billboard Hot 100 number ones with « Red Red Wine » and « (I Can’t Help) Falling in Love ». Both of these also topped the UK Singles Chart, as did the band’s version of « I Got You Babe ».

The Food for Thought: Live at Rockpalast ’81 concert, filmed at the Sartory-Säle in Cologne, Germany, on the 19th July 1981 for the Rockpalast TV series, followed hot on the heels of the release of the UB40’s second album, Present Arms (1981), which hit the no.2 spot in the UK charts, like the first album, Signing Off (1980), released one year earlier. The set list is drawn almost exclusively from those two albums and includes all their early hits.
